Wisconsin College Cuts Costs and Carbon with Solar + Storage
Southwest Wisconsin Technical College is embracing a more sustainable future with the installation of a 300 kW solar array and a 125 kW / 220 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS) provided by ELM MicroGrid. This solar-plus-storage solution is expected to offset up to 60% of the college’s electricity usage and save approximately $30,000 annually in utility costs. In addition to powering campus operations and providing backup for critical infrastructure, the project supports renewable energy education for students and apprentices, making it a win for both the environment and the classroom.
